Privacy policy
Privacy, plainly.
Last updated: June 2026. This page describes what data FreelanceSites.net collects and how it is used. The short version: we collect very little, we don't run ads or trackers, and we never sell data.
What we collect
- Site submissions. When you submit a platform, we store the public information you provide about that platform (name, address, description). We don't ask for or store anything about you personally.
- Contact messages. When you use the contact form, we receive your name (optional), email address, and message, and use them only to reply.
- A session cookie. A standard, functional session cookie (PHPSESSID) supports the submission flow and basic rate limiting. It is not used for tracking or advertising.
- Server logs. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Third-party services
- Google Knowledge Graph. When a platform is submitted or viewed, we may query Google's Knowledge Graph API with the platform's brand name to verify and enrich the listing. No visitor data is sent.
- Google Gemini (AI discovery). The text you type into the AI discovery search is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate suggestions. Don't include personal information in searches.
- Google favicon service and fonts. Platform icons and the Inter typeface are loaded from Google servers, which receive standard web requests from your browser.
What we don't do
- No advertising, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data.
- No accounts, so no passwords or profiles to protect — or leak.
